Meet the Majonis's!

Dr. Joel and Mrs. Bonita Majonis have lived in Thornhill Woods since 2002. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past summer. Joel is a retired university professor of Social Work. Since his retirement, he has achieved provincial registration in both Social Work and Psychotherapy, and maintains an active part-time Psychotherapy practice. Bonita holds a Master of Social Work degree and before retirement worked for more than 30 years in the social service system in Southern Ontario, achieving the ultimate position of Director of Research and Outcome Measurement in a large social service agency. Since her retirement, Bonita performs part time consultation work, volunteers at a local hospital, and continues her lifetime study of the classical guitar. Joel and Bonita have attended the Thornhill Woods Shul from time to time over the years of its existence, starting when it was held upstairs at the plaza on Bathurst and Rutherford Rd. They are pleased to note that the Shul is now associated with Aish, with its emphasis on inclusiveness for all Jews and learning.
